Chemistry.com
is an online dating service founded in 2006. The site's primary function is to
match couples based on a personality test algorithm created by anthropologist
Dr. Helen Fisher. The site is a sister site of match.com and is primarily used
to establish long-term relationships between people of either hetero- or
homosexual alignments.
When signing up for the site, new members fill out an in-depth
personality test to establish what kinds of people the prospective member would
be compatible with. Members then receive various possible matches, and are able
to look at those matches' profiles. The difference between chemistry.com and
it's sister site, match.com, is that chemistry.com picks clients matches for
them based on the personality test, while match.com allows users to search
through matches on their own (without as in-depth of a personality test). From
this point a member can send messages or inquire more about any interesting
looking matches to establish whether or not they seem truly compatible. The
site offers various online activities to break the ice and allow potential
customers to get to know one another better before meeting in person.
The service currently costs $49.95 for one month and the price
per month goes down the more months you pay for up front. This of course this
can be changed at any time and special offers may be available.
Chemistry.com currently has
1.2 million members which suggests are large user pool to find a prospective
match at and has been featured on 20/20 and Good Morning America.
